By Car

Domaine de Leygue is situated 20 miles east of Bergerac in the south of the Dordogne, S.W. France.

For those of you who enjoy a lovely drive there are many options available to you for Channel crossings either by ferry from the various Channel ports with P&O Ferries, LD Lines, Norfolkline, Seafrance, Brittany Ferries or through the Channel Tunnel.

From Bergerac, take the D660 then the D703 east to Lalinde. In Lalinde turn right (south) over the Dordogne river on the D29 (also called D8 or E4). After crossing the river bridge, follow the road round to the left and in approx ¼ mile take the first right turn towards Bourniquel and Molieres (D8, E4). In approx 2 miles you will find Domaine de Leygue on the right hand side set back from the road. Please use the second entrance where you will see the Domaine de Leygue name on the fence.

To Bergerac

Newly-enlarged Bergerac Airport is just a lovely 20 minute drive away from us. Many of our guests are now taking full advantage of the extremely low-cost flights into Bergerac being offered by three budget airlines:

Fly direct to Bergerac from - Bristol, East Midlands, Liverpool and Stanstead.

Fly direct to Bergerac from – Birmingham, Edinburgh, Exeter, London Gatwick and Southampton. They also offer a new ‘through ticket’ facility so that passengers can make a single booking which includes connecting flights to and from Bergerac via its ‘hub’ airports in the UK. Cities and towns being served by this new service are:  Belfast, Dundee, Glasgow, Guernsey, Inverness, Isle of Man, Jersey, Kirkwall, Leeds-Bradford, Newcastle, Stornoway and Sumburgh.

Once you arrive into Bergerac airport, there’s a choice of hire car companies on site with a choice of vehicles and tariffs to suit your requirements. These companies include Avis, Budget, Europcar, Hertz, National and Ucar (French site). These can also be booked on-line in advance which is always advisable to avoid disappointment.

To Limoges

Slightly further away from us is Limoges Airport. This is approximately a 2 ½ hour drive through some lovely parts of the Dordogne and is also served by the budget airlines:

Fly direct to Limoges from Birmingham, Edinburgh, Gatwick, Manchester, Newcastle and Southampton. The ‘through ticket’ facility mentioned above allows a single booking for connecting flights to and from Limoges serving :  Belfast, Glasgow, Guernsey and Jersey.

Hire car companies on site at Limoges include: Avis, Europcar, Hertz and National. As these booking desks are only staffed at certain times, it’s advisable to book on-line in advance. After hours key drop-off facilities are available.

To Bordeaux

Also approximately 2 hours from us is the international airport at Bordeaux. This is served by many major airlines plus four low-cost airlines :

By Rail

If you prefer the train, the Eurostar service now allows you to book on-line from many UK cities direct to Bordeaux, usually changing at London and Paris. This may also include the famous TGV from Paris to Bordeaux. However, booking each individual leg of the journey (to London, to Paris, to Bordeaux) may prove cheaper. Once at Bordeaux, hire cars are available at the station with Auto-Europe, Carhire 3000, Europcar, and many others close-by. It is always advisable to book on-line.
